Description

First deep sky image for a long time. The reason was, that I had to remove my observatory and completely rebuild it at a remote location. And it took some time to build that. But now I can run automated sequences started from anywhere with an internet connection which is a big advantage as I can make mor use of clear nights ...

This is the first light with this new observatory. Don`t know why I chose this object, but I have to say: "Damn that thing is hard". The OIII line was barely visible at 180s subs with my 11" RASA and a 4nm narrowband filter (and yes I used one which is made for a fast system). After each OIII session I stacked everything and thought: "That`s not enough data!" So I collected a lot of light with the OIII filter and not so much with the Ha filter.
The stars are shot with RGB-filters and much shorter subs. Maybe I should use a lower gain or even shorter subs, because somehow the brighter stars tend to burn out a little bit. However I think, that the stars are a big improvement compared to my last images!

The objects itself is located in the Cepheus constellation next to the famous Elephants Trunk.
